Horton Technique:
Developed by Lester Horton in the 50's and defined by Alvin Ailey and Joyce Trysler and codified by Anna Marie Forsythe. This technique forms the basis for the Alvin Ailey Company.Classes consist of fortifications, Preludes and studies designed to increase strength and flexibility. Classes focus on performance technique and the understanding of anatomy and musicality.
Limon Technique:
Beginner and Intermediate levels focusing on performance techniques and use of breath and space. Developed by Jose Limon and Doris Humphrey in the 40's, the limon technique takes its foundation on the principals of performance, artistry, musicality, weight and the use of space.
Contemporary Ballet:
Intermediate and advanced levels, taking root in the principals of Classical ballet, but playing with the ideals of extreme movement, weight shifting and draws inspiration from the choreographic and teaching principals of Kylian and Forsythe.
Pilates and Body Conditioning:
Developed by Josef Pilates, Pilates mat work classes provide an awareness and strengthening of the core muscle stabilizers as well as flexibility and body conditioning. Classes combine yoga and active isolated stretching to provide total body workout and awareness.
Ballet:
Advanced and intermediate Levels. based on Vagonova and Italian Methods.
